REPORTS FROM WORKING DREDGES.

The secretary of the Paterson's Freehold Gold Dredging Company reports the following returns for last week: — No. 1 dredge, 19oz for 131 hours' work; No. 2 dredge. 250z for 131 hours' work. The ground worked by the No. 1 dredge was disappointing, being nearly all drift. An improvement, however, was expected to take place this week. The No. 2 dredge was still on good wash.

A return of 18oz 13dwt is reported from the New Golden Beach dredge for 120 hours' work last week.

The secretary of the Lady Annie Company reports a return of 420z 2dwt for 125 ihours' work.

The secretary of the Waikaia Company reports a return of 17oz for 123 houis' work. The diredgemaster wired that the wash was making again.

The Hessey's dredgemaster reports having washed up for a return of 20oz 16dwt as the result of 131 hours' work.

The secretary of the Bignell's No Town Company reports a return of 620z for 181 hours' work. The dredgemaster wired that timber wa6 troublesome on the south side. The wash on the north side was tight.

A return of 48oz is reported from the Golden Run dredge for 139 hours' work last week. The pipe-line for the sluicing claim 1 has been brought acros6 the river, and is now completed.

Mr S. E. Brent, secretary of the Barewocd Gold Mining Company, repoits a return of 690z 16dwt from 250 tons of stone for the month of February.

The secretary of the Island Block Company reports a wash-up on Saturday for a return of 270z Idwt from the stripping.

The Enficld dredgemaster reports that he washed up for a return of 14oz for 131 hours' work. He also stated that the ground was much about the same as in the previous week.

Mr S. E. Brent, secretary of the Sho lover Quartz Mining Company, reports a leturn of 41oz Idwt 6gr melted bullion from 90 tons of stone for the month of February.

DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE

Matters on 'Change were a good deal quieter yesterday as compared with Sutuiday. Quotes were not by any means so numerous, while in one or two stocks there was a noticeable easing tendency. A parcel of Electrics was snapped \tp at a slightly improved price as compar©4 with those at which sales were recorded last week. Rise and Shines were easier, while Manuherikiaa and Hartleys received no notice. In the investment stock department, however, the inquiry was even better than on Satuiday, and a very large number of this class of stock came under notice. Alexandra Leads showed a very slight easing tendency yesterday, but Bignell's No Towns showed decided firming. A parcel of Electric shares placed on ths market at 38s v»-as snapped up. but althovigh additional 1013 were procurable at a similar price there was no evidence of further buyers. An inquiry was made for- Golden Treasures at 793, and a holder responded at 81s. Junction Electrics were a shade firmer, buyers offering 3s 6d and holders asking 4s 6d. Very good inqtiiry was made for New Perseverance shares at 19s 6d, but there was no seller on the market at a price lower than 21s. Rise and Shines were a. deal easier, buyers offering 26s as against 27s 3d on Spturday last, and holders asking 28s 6d, a price 6d lower than that asked at the close of last week.
