NORTH ISLAM TOURNAMENT. GISBORNE, January 10.

The bowling tourney was continued to-day in beautiful weather. Gisborne, Green Meadows, and Hastings have won all their gamee. Very exciting matches were- 'ayed between Green Meadows and Wellington, Auckland and Wellington, Auckland and Feilding. Green Meadows saved their unbeaten record by defeating Wellington after a tie, the winning shot being warmly applauded. January 12. The bowling contest for the North Island Championship Fours concluded this evening-, Gisborne winning the final game by 16 to 15 after a laosl exciting finish. The largest score of the game (4) was put up by Gisborne m the last head against Cariton, and gave the local team the victory by a single point. The contest between the Cariton and Gisborne dubs for Mr Kirker's tiophy commenced at 4 B.ni., and was keenly watched by a large crowd, the match of the previoirs day between these teams having created an additional interest in to-day's contest. The game proved most exciting. At one time Carlton had a lead of 11, but with only four heads to go Gisborne scored well, and won by 25 to 18. Gisborne thus won all the games they played, including the Champion Singles. January 14. This afternoon the bowling rinks were given tip to a large number of friendly games. One of these was between the Greenmeadows and the Gisborne teams, the latter of which had made 13 successive''' wins. Greenmeadows led all the way, and won by 30 to 15. Most of the northern -visitors left "this afternoon, and the southern contingent go on Sunday night. The Hon. Mr Carroll visited the green daily.
