OTAGO.
There was a good attendance of members and others interested at the meetin§, of the Orawis branch, held on December 29. In tho absence of Mr Blatch, president, Mr Murchison was called to the "chair. Th&re being no business of a local nature, the organiser, who was present, was asked to address the meeting. The subject of his address was, "Accidents likely to occur at foaling and calving time." The lecturer was listened to with the closest attention throughout, and <it ths. close many questions were asked and experiences recited. The lecturer was ab!e to show where errors 1 ad been made in dealing with some of ' ho cases referred to by members present, J nd illustrated his remarks by drawings on the blackboard. Mr Paterson was accorded a heavty vote of thanke for his interesting and instructive address, and the meeting closed.
Mr*»J. Chilton presided at the ordinary meeting of the Drummond branch; Mr Paterson. organiser, was present and answered p large number of questions relating to diseases of stock. He afterwards gave &n outline of the onion's condition financially and otherwise, and impressed on those present to do what they could in strengthening the union ■which was doing so much for the farming community. Votes, of thanks to Mr Paterson and the chairman brought the meeting to a close.
