NOMINATIONS for ail Handicaps, including Trots, to be in the hands of the Secretary not later than 9.30 p.m. on FRIDAY, 27th January, 1905. Nominations for Trots to be accompanied with, pedigree (if any) and previous performances. HANDICAPS for the first day's laoes will be declared on or about WEDNESDAY, Ist February, 1905. Handicaps for the second day will be posted up at the office of the Secretary at 9 o'clock on the night of the first day's ' racing. ACCEPTANCES for the first day's racing, and Entries for the Maiden Plate, must be lodged with the Secretary not later than 9.3'J . p.m. on TUESDAY, 7th February, 1905. Acceptances for the second day's races close one hour after the handicaps are posted. After the declination of weights, the winner of any handicap race of the value (as defined in Rule 36 of "Rules of Racing") of £20 shall carry a penalty of slb ; of from over £20 to £35. a penalty of 7lb; and of over £35, f. penalty of 101b. If the requisite penalties are not carried, owners will be held responsible. The winner of any handicap of £30 or over after the declaration of weights, may be rehandicapped. The rules of the Metropolitan Club of the district vill be strictly adhered to, both as regards the racing and the working "of the totalisatoi. Tlie Trotting Races will be xiin ivnder the Rules of the N.Z. Trotting Association. No entry will be received for any race except under the&e conditions. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards (or a majority of them), and their decisions on all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme are to be final. The decision of the Stewards is subiect iQ appeal (see Rule 8 Constitution and Rule 93 of Trotting). By entering a horse, the nominator and every person having any interest in such horse, shall be deemed to accept all the conditions and restrictions imposed or implied by these rules, and to be debarred from questioning any action or conduct of any official of a Trotting or Racing Club in respect of such horse or of any person connected therewith otherwise than i« provided Tby Bule 9 of "Bxiles of Trottine." No protest shall be entertained unless lodged in writing and accompanied by the sum of £5. If Ihe -pretest is not sustained, the deposit will be forfeited. Jorkey costume will be insisted on.
