[Conducted by Magistee, to whom all Communications must be addressed.] It is useless for me to give you anything* Of '« serious nature to-day, or for a week or two, so I am giving you, what seems to me, almost as good a tale in its way as Dickens's .description of. the goblins in the *' Christmas Tale" quoted from in the Fourth Imperial Reader, following this is a piece ©n Santa Claus ; some reasons why we ehould have holidays {they are written for adults, but that doesn't matter) ; and a column of scholars' answers taken from the Teachers' Monthly. I assume , you know the full meaning of Christmas, though it doesn't do to take too much for granted.
