Put upon her mettle, the bride-to-be sent out five invitations for the dinner, which were promptly accepted, says the New York Times. The day arrived, and- with all the guests but one. Stifled sobs •from the region of the dining room drew her attention. Entering, she saw the figure
of the small boy who had taken the place of the absent guest at the dinner table, lying face downward upon th-e floor. "Harry," she cried in alarm, "-.vhat is the matter with you?"
"Oh," was the wailing response, "1 am 6O hungry ."
