WEDDING AT FORTROSE.

Dear Emmelme, — A very prett;s wedding took place on Wednesday, December 28, in St. Cyprian's Cirurcli, Portrose, -when Miss Annie Stratton, of Fortiose, and- Mr Francis G-illigan ware united in the holy bonds of matrimony by the Rev. Mt Blathwayte. The bride was given away by Mrs Jackson dark Mavitta, and ■was attired in a lovely dress of blue voile, handsoni&ly trimmed with white silk and white silk insertion, -with the usual veil and orange blossoms. -whicHi well bseonie her fair com ptexion. She carried a lovely showei bouquet, the gift of her esteemed friend Mis Mavitta. The bridesmaids (Misses Mabel and Nelly Stratton, sisters of the bride) looked v^ry pretty . ill white dresses, with whit© picture hats 1 relieved' with pale blue. They both wore pretty gold brooches, the gift of the bridegroom-, ■whose present to the bride was a very handsome gold brooch and gold watch. Mr Edwin Carlaw and Mr Frank Leslie- were in attendance on the bridegroom. The bride was presented with a gilt-edged prayer book and Bible by the Eev. Mr Blathwayte. After the ceremony all assembled around" the table, which, was beautifully decorated with, fruit anel flowers, and laden with the best of all good things, both to eat and drink. Mrs Stratton, mother of the bride, being an. invalid, was not able to receive her guests at the door but she made them all welcome. She is an old and much-respected "ssHiierct of I?ortro3a, liavLig resided here nsarly 27 years. The bride was the. recipient of many handsome presents, among them many cheques to help them on in life. The happy couple left by the 5.15 train for Invercargill amid showers of. rice. They proceeded thence to Dunedin, and from there tc Christchurch, where they intend spending their honeymoon. On their return they will reside in Wyadhain. — A GUESTL
