NEW SOUTH WALES v. VICTORIA. MELBOURNE. December 28.

The match between New South Wales and Victoria resulted in a win for New South Wales by 135 runs. In the first innings the scores were equal. New South Wales put up 480 in their second innings. Victoria, in their second innings, scored 345. M'Alister made 59, Stuckey 75, Armstrong 37, M'L&od 57, Ransford 43. Cotter took two wickets for 59 runs, Hopkins one for 79, Garnsey three for 67, Johnson three for 64, and Howell one for 64. January 2. In the match New South Wales Second Eleven against Victorian Second Eleven the local team in its first innings made 652 (Diamond 204 not out). For the match between Victoria and South Australia the weather was cool. South Australia made 420 in their first innings. Gehrs made 170 runs, Hach 67, Claxton 58, Darling 35. Hill 28, and Travcrs ' 27 (not out). The Victorian bowling was I weak. Saunders took four wickets for 108
