OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS' COLUMN. FOR BOYS AND GIRLS. (Conducted by Magisterb, to whom all communications must Addressed.]
BREAKI^G-TJP TIME. Last week and this have seen the " breakinSf^up " ceremonies in' most of our schools ; and, looking back and judging by the prizelists, many boys and girls — if they thought about the matter at all — would think them--eelves failures. With- us seniors, I know many of ns"~ hardly know how to classify ourselves. But what is " success " or "failure"? That is rather a hard question to answer, and I shall i.ot attempt it just now; but I have, an article on the subject, taken, from anjfA'merican " periodical,- and after a week^or(two, when you have settled <lowc to serious , work again;., I- shall prp- . fcably give it to you. In the , meantime', however; do not be discouraged .because""you are not in tfoe\ coveted honours lists, for many non-prizetakers_ are; judged by in-, dustry and honesty of purpose, more deserving than many whose names have been read out.
