CROMWELL, December 17. ' The w eather is warm, and tho river is falling steadily. There is very little doing m dredging now, the Electric No. 2 dredge and the Clutha dredges being the only ones working here. The Rise and Shine No. 1 dredge is being overhauled, alsr. the Hartley anct Riley and Electric No. 1. The New Halfway House dredge is stepped through want of a good headline. The Rise and .Shine No. 2 dredge is steadily improving, and is now doing fairly well. Tha Punt dredge is down at the Loburn now, and will pass the punt on Monday.
