BUTTER FREIGHTS
MELBOURNE, December 14.
Before the Butter Commission a Sydney witness stated that there was not the slightest doubt that butter freights would be rodnced to a, £d but for the existence of a secret commission. He characaterised the statement of the manager of the P. and O. Company about brokerage as a " fairy tale."
The Gazette notifies that Mr Alex. Potter has been appointed a trustee of the Oamaru Racecourse in' succession to Mr Josepfe Moss.
