LAND SALES
Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) report having sold on account of Mr S. Fletcher, Gore, his run on the Hokonuis, comprising 5200 acres first-class pastoral land, and known as Campbell's block, to Mr J. C. Nichols, of Maheno. This, together with property lately acquired from the Waitnea Land Company and Bell's trustees, forms one of the finest properties in Southland, and is known as Fadr Place Estate.
Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) report having sold on account of Mr John Noble, Merino Downs, his well-known farm of 968 acres, with all improvements and crops, to Mr Wm. Palmer, late of Wantwood. Mr Palmer is to be congratulated on his pur-"\ chase, as the estate is considered by judges to be one of the best all-round properties m the district. Under Mr Noble's management the property has been brought "from the .natural state into a high order of improvement. All fences and buildings have been well erected and maintained. Pasture and crops look well, and the flock of sheep, all bred ou the property, and numbering about 1750, arc a credit to the owner. On the whole, one seldom goes on. to a property showing such management as Mr Noble's, and the district is sure to miss him. The clearing sale of live stock and plant will be held about the end of January, 1905.
