FISK JUBILEE SINGERS.
The Dunedin music-loving public will on Boxing Night in the Garrison Hall have the opportunity of listening to the Jubilee Singers since their re-orgmisation, which lias been the means of stamping them the superiors, musically, to any of their previous combinations. Among the new members is Mr Clarence Tisdale, who comes bo well recommended, and who has been the recipient of triple, encores at each performance. His «*mor»'i<» of fchr> favourite •solo, "Sally Homer," always meets -w ioud applause. Another oi the new members is Mr H. C. Newton, " whose singing as always well received. These with the old favourites, Miss Gibbons, Miss Mercer. Mr K. H. Collins, and Mr C. A. White, bring the combination up to such a standard that a splendid entertainment is assured. The years that have lapsed since the Jubilee Singers first made their appearance in New Zealand have been the means of an increase in popularity at each visit to Dunedin, and the cause is simple — viz., that. the programmes- presented have been improved upon at each appearance by constant application and the introduction of the best available talent, which speaks well for and always assures the success of the combination. There is always a charm in the old plantation melodies-, which, when assisted' - by such correct interpretations as the Jubilee Singers give, .makes them attractive and appreciated, as /is evidenced by the popularity of "Steal Away," 4< Roll, Jordan Roll," "Peter, Go Ring Dem Bells," "I'm A Boiling," etc.
