AUCKLAND
A block of shops in the busy part of Queen street have all been visited in turn by thieves recently. The series of thefts commenced with a daring haul, a dentist's show caee, containing gold-filled specimen teeth, and valued at £20, being taken between 2.30 and 4- o'clock in the afternoon while the dentist was at his business. The thieves entered the same building last night thieves entered the same building on the 12th and ransacked a sewing machine ag&nt's enter a grocery store next door, and broke down the fence, but found the window barred. A few nights before a neighbouring perambulator manufacturer's premises were entered and the articles thrown about, but nothing valuable was taken. As the outcome of tfcg recent inquiry, Dr Collins appeared on 1«c 13th before Mr Wardell, charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of VVallis White. Dr Collins did not plead, and was formally remanded till Friday. Bail was granted, himself in one surety of £500 and two sureties of £250 eacn.
