WRESTLING.

A three-style wrestling match was held at the Bluff on Saturday night for a side wager of £20 between R. J. Scott (champion of New Zealand) and Thomas Johnston, a local man. Mr J. Hoffmann (late of Goie) acted as Judge. Johnston, who won Ihe toss, chose the collar and elbow style, and obtained his first fall in 20 seconds. The next fall went to Scott after five minutes' work, and Johnston won the third fall after a 10 minute?' good contest The next style was Catch-as-catch-can, at which Scott is an undisputed champion Johnston was not well accustomed to this style of wrestling, and therefore he acted m'ost'y on the defensive ; but Scott declared afterwards that he was a tough opponent, his creat strength standing r 'in in good stead. There wss no fall in the first 15-minutes' contest, but Scott thiew his man after two minutes had gone m tbe second spell, and also obtained the second fall just on the csll of time. In the Cumberland style Scott won the first two falls, and thus won the match. Considerable interest was taken in the match, which was attended by noarly 300 people, and which was contested in a very friendly spirit. A.t
