The Big River Company's mine manager •ftuorts-— "The contractors have fixed guides in the shaft and excavated sft of No 8 chamber. •The west arrve at No. 7 level has been driven 9ft. The track keeps good, but there is no payable stone yet." * J December 10. The Alpine Company's mine manager re-ports:-No. 10 south has been extended 18ft ifex ti» wsek, making tite total distance 98ft.
We should now be about the distance to exit the track. The cross-cut is still very hard : 7ft has been driven for the week, making the total distance 55ft.
