REPORTS FROM WORKING DREDGES
The secretary of the Paterson's Freehold Gold Dredging Company reports the following returns for last week: — No. 1 dredge, 240z lOdwt for 120 hours; No. 2 dredge, 260z lOdwt for 130 hours.. The master of the No. 2 dredge reported that the ground was mtich better than in tho previous week, and up to the close of the week continued good. The secretary of the Revival Company reports a rettu-n of 320z Sdwt for 183 hours* dredging. Th* secretary. of the Hess'ey's Company reports a return" of 17oz 14d\vt for 135 hours' work. Ihe secretary of the Waikaia Company reports a return of Boz 13dwt for 121 hours* work. The dredgema&ter wired that he had finished the protection of the freehold, and now anticipates a gradual increase in the returns
The secretary of the Garden Gully Company reports ra. return of 260z Idwt for 130 hours* ■work. 'Everything on the dredge was working well.
The secretary of the Matau Company reports a return of lloz 3dwt for the week. The dredgemaster wired that he had ceased operations to put in a new screen.
Tha secretary of the North Beach Company reports a return of 21oz 15dwt for 244 hours* work on the shingle lead.
The Alexandra. Herald states ,that the Ngapara No. 2 dredge, at the Nevis, is reported, to have obtained 360z last week.
The master of the New Golden Beach Company reports that he washed up for a return of 17oz Sdwt for 117 hours' work. He also wired that the pample was improving, and tha ground was about the same.
The secretary of the Aldmga Company reports a, return of 13oz 15dwt for 130 hours' work. The dredgemaster wired that he hads stepped and was sending the shaft to the foundry.
The secretary of th» Chicago Company reports a return of 460z 9dwt for 168 hours' work. Ho also reported that the drsdgo was engaged in opening out, and that the prospects were good.
The secretary of the Waikaka United Gold Dvedging Company reports the following returns for last week: — No. 1 dredge, 9oz sdwfe /or 51 hours' work; No. 2 dredge, 14oz lldwt for 105 hours' work. A good deal of time was lost on the No. 1 dredge owing to the bursting of a. steam pipe. The No. 2 dredge lost tirna through boiler inspection.
The secretary of the Enfield Company reports a return, of 12dwt 13gr for 133 hours' wcrk. The dredgemaster reported that the ground was much about the same as ia the previous week-
