MELBOURNE, December 9.

, Mr Reid has cabled the Imperial authorities informing them that Germany's action in the Marshall group is an infringement ©f the Anglo-German agreement.

In the House, Mr Reid announced that lie had. sent a despatch to the Imperial Government drawing attention to the Anglo-German agreements, ■which provided that ships of both nations should enjoy equal treatment well as the mostfavoured nation treatment in connection with trade in the Pacific Islands, with a suggestion for a reversion to the conditions prevailing before the Germans imposed the heavy charges, pending a settlement by negotiation.
