PROPOSED VISIT TO ENGLAND.
WELLINGTON, December 10.
Mr Murray, of Auckland, one of the selectors of the New Zealand football team for England, has resigned. Mr Alf. Bayly, of Taranaki, is being asked to fill the vacancy. The team will probably consist of 24 men. The selection will be announced during the first week in January. At a meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union a statement presented by the treasurer showed that the net profits of the tour of the English team through New Zealand amounted to over £3000. The New Zealand Union's share was £1200. It was decided to send the New Zealand team Home by the direct route, leaving in the middle of July. The allowance to each player was fixed at 3s per day. No trainer is to be sent. Probably a match or two will be played at Sydney before the team leaves for the Old Country. December 12. Of the 53 men selected as the basis of the New Zealand football team for Great Britain 24 have informed the selectors of their ability to make the trip.
