Notes from Cromwell. (From Our Own Correspondent.)

-^CROMWELL, December 3. The weather is still warm, and the river is falling slightly. There is very little doing in dredging just now. The Electric No. 2 dxedge is working into the bank as the drift is too heavy out in the river, so she will not get anything good till the river ii* worked. The Rise and Shine No. 1 dredge is now oter the high bar, and prospects are good. No. 2 dredge is improving steadily, and should soon be on good returns. The Halfway House dredge is over the firafc rip, which is the worst of the two.
