INYERCARGILL D.L.F. UTERARY.AND DEBATING CLUB.
Dear Dot, — The ordinary fortnightly meet, ing of the Invereargill D.L.F. .Literary and Debating Society was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Tay street, on Wednesday evening, 30th November. There were present of the committee, the President (Southland Cynic), Ceres, Ita, and Zealia. After the ordinary business had. been gone through, the debat V7as taken, the subject under discussion for the evening being "Sword Versus Pen." The judging was left in the hands of the members, the majority of whom supported the claims of the sword. Interesting letters were also read from. Santiago and Hiawatha. The svtggestion of the latter regarding a D.L.F. picnic will be duly considered at our next meeting. It was decided that a library be formed in connection, with our club. Our next meeting will be held on the 14th December, on the evening of the Invereargill show day, and as there will probably be a. nvimber of little folk staying in .town, we will be very pleased to see them at otur meeting.—Yours truly, CERES, Secretary.
