THE EXPORT TRADE.
The principal items 'in the cargo shipped from New Zealand by the New Zealand and African Company's steamer Oswestry Grange, which left Timaru last week for South Africa and West Coast ports of the United Kingdom, via Australia, are as follow : — From Wellington — 1203 boxes butter, 290 bales hemp, 40 cases fish. From Auckland—ls4,64oft timber, 255 boxes butter, 233 bales hemp, 50 cases meats. From- Lyttelton — 890 carcases mutton. 45 boxes butter, 34 bales hemp. 515 sacks barley, 243 sacks cocksfoot. 30 sacks clover seed, 165 sacks peas. From Port Chalmers — 1452 boxes butter, 70 crates poultry, 248 crates rabbits, 169 boxes beef, 2505 sacks oats, 69 sacks wheat. ' From Timaru— l4s2 carcases mutton, 75 crates poultry, 4127 sacks oats, 135 sacks bran, 50 sacks peas, 100 sacks cocksfoot, 459 sacks wheat.
