MEETING. The weather was beautifully fine for tha third athletic meeting of the Dunedin Amateur Athletic Club, held on the Caledonian Ground or- Friday. There was a good attendance of ihc outside public and immediate supporters of the competitors. A feature of th» meeting was the presence of a ieartr' from the Gore Harrier Club, they, with commendable enterprise, having made the journey up to Dunedin to compete in the Teams Relay Race. Prior to the commencement cf the sports, the local athletes gave threo hearty cheers for the visitors. Six teams were entered for the Relay Race, the winning team turning up in the Civil ServicD Haaxiers No. 1 team, for which Reynolds ran particularly well. In the putting the 16".b weight some of the competitors showed ?, lack of knowledge m hurling the missile. The final of th? 120 yds Hurdles,, which was run with the wind, was unintentionally humorous owing to the number of hurdlesknocked over by the competitors, tha winner being the oniy one to clear 10 flights without clouting. Mr W. M'Donald made an efficient starter. Results : — '- Relay P^WJk One mile. Each man run 3 440 yds. — Ji^iHOsF-HCviee No. 1 team (Melville, Pridieaux^^orown, Reynolds), 100 yds handicap, I ; "University (Palmer, Scott, Johnson. Patrick), scratch, 2; Gore Club (Tosswill, Smith, Imrie, Ross), 65yds handicap, 3. Also started : Dunedin Amateur Athletic Club Nos. 1 and 2 and Civil Service No. 1. Time, 3min 23Jsec. Putting, the 16lb Weight. M'Fa,rlane (3ft), 33f* lin 1 Casey (scratch), 35ft 4in . . . . 2 Paton (3ft), 31ft 6m 3 Also competed : Titchener (4ft Gin), 26ft llin. Casey, who made \in actual put of 35ft 4hh, showed great promiso, but lie was beaten by M'Farlane on the- handicap. 120 yds Huidles. — First heat: M'Namee, owes ?yds, 1 ; Parata, ewes 6yds, 2. Also started : Titchener (owes syds) and Smith (owes 4yds). Won by four yards. Time, 21 2-ssoc. Second heat: Clancy, ewes 4yds, 1 ; Prideatuc, ewes 2yds, 2. Also started: Johnson (owes 4ycls). Won by bare inches. Time, 21 4-ssec. Fina.l 120 yds Hurdles. M'Namee, owes 2yds 1 Clancy, owes 4yds 2 Prideaux, o-wes 2yds 3 Also started: Parata (owes 6yds). Fiom a gcod start M'Namee- lead ove>- the first hurdle, but O.ancy, Pridea.nx, and Parata clouted, knocking the hurdle over, and coming down with it. M'Namee was still leading when the eighth hurdle was reached. At this stage Parata, who was holding a, good position, again c.imo to grief ovar the hurdle, and dropped out. M'Namee, going on, won by three yarda from Clancy, with Prideaux third. Time, 23sec.
