The Federal Premier has received 1 a cable from, the Colonial Office stating that a reply is not expected for some time from Germany relative to the protest against the restrictions en shipping in the Marshall group, the reason given being that tie German authorities will probably require to communicate Avith the authorities in the Marshalls.

Against this it is pointed out that within 48 hours of its being known that the Ysabel was returning to the group an export duty of 30s was placed on copra* by the Bsilin authorities without consulting the authorities at the Marshalls.
