POULTRY SHOW?. PALMERSTON NORTH, August 3.
The MaJiawatu Poultry Association's third annual show commenced to-day. The entries totalled close on 1000, and the principal breeders and fanciers from Auckland to Marlborough were represented. The principal prize-takers so far are P. Caville, A. Roxburgh, Mamson and Green, O. Canning, T W. Barnes, E. P. lOrviss. A. Simpson, Mrs E. Holland, J. H. Stewart, W. E. Laney, W. Colton, J. Casey, H. W. Oppert. J. B. Grant, A. R. Alpe, F. Garnet, and A. Doig. The North Island championship is not yet decided. HOKITIKA.. August 3. At the Hokitika poultry show the Minorca championship of the South Island Association was woai by A. H. Benroett (Hokitika), who "also wins the society's gold medal for the best bird in the stow. A. Hounscll
(Neison) win=; the ll^gen trophy for most points in Minorcas. The judging of the Minorca-s was left till late in the afternoon to await the arrival of the Nelscm exhibits, which wt-ie delayed through stress o' weather.
