MR DOWIE'S MISSION

ADELAIDE, March 29.

At a meeting cf the City Council the Mayor (Mr Cohen) strongly condemned Dowie's disloyal utterances, and said that he was thankful that Dowie was not a British subject. He also regretted that Dowie belonged to a nation on the friendliest terms with the British Empire. He asked the council to reprobate Dowie's action by standing and saying with him " God save our gracious King." All the councillors responded. The Mayor was specially thanked for refusing Dowie the use of the Town Hall. The use of the city baths for immersing converts has also been refused.
