WAIPUKURAU RACES.

NAPIER, April 4. The Waipukurau Jockey Club's meeting attracted &> large attendance, the meeting being in every way the most successful the cub has yet held — the fields were large. The sum of £6115 was put through the totalisators, this being a record for the club, and an increase of £620 on last year's total. Results : —

Maiden Handicap Hack, of 40sovs. One mile. — Monarque, 8.3, 1 ; Sprinkle, 7.7, 2 ; Soiith Star, 7.9, 3. Won by a length. Time, lrnin 52sec. Dividends. £2 83 and £4 3s.

Easter Handicap, of 50sovs. Once round.— Ballyneety, 7.3, 1; Repulse, 7.6, 2; Tauia, 7.10, 3. Won by a neck. Time, lmin 59sec. Dividends, £7 13s and 17s.

Hack Handicap, of 50sovs. Once round. — Provost Marshal 8.13, 1; Quilted, 7.6, 2; Sleeuwell, 6.7, 3. Won easily. Time, 2min 11 2-ssec. Dividends, £3 9s and £1 lls.
