SPECIAL SALE OF DRAUGHT HORSES
Messrs Wright, Step-henson, and Co. report as follows: — We held a special sale of Vic-torian-bred horses nt~our Horse Saleyards on Tuesday 41 being offered, most of them young •and of. good stamp. The iew that were aged and sornewiiat stale met with a poor market, horses of this class being at all times hard to dispose of in Dunedin. The young horses, however; 'sold well under competition. Considering that it is somewhat early in the season for farmers to be in the maxket fox plough horses, there was a good attendance of buyers, and, as already indicated, young mares and' geldings showing weight and quality brought satisfactory prices. Heavy, powerful, four and five-year-old cart horses are wanted, and there were several buyers in "the yard after extra good young Clydesdale mar.es and fillies, but their requirements were not supplied. We also note a good inquiry for extra good, unstanding young spring-van horses, not under 17 hands, thoroughly broken to single and double harness and good mover 3.
