SHOOTING C-MPEIITIONS.
A TRIANGULAR MATCE. A triangular match was fired on Saturdlay fi ftornooji on tho Green Island Rifles' range between teams representing Green Island Kifies, IDunedin Highland Rifles, and Bast Taieri Rifles. The conditions were 10 men aside, seven shots and ouc sighter at 200 yard's, and seven shots and two siglrters at 500 yards. As will be seen by the following scores, the Green Island Rifles were returned winners by the i.arrow margin of 1 point over the Highlanders, who in turn beat the East Taieri Rifles by 76 points. - This is the second occasion on which tSis Green Island! shooting men have beaten, the Highlanders by a nanow margin Owing to the very high winel blowing some of the scores were not quite up to the mark at 500 yards. At the conclusion of the nmt-ch. Liputenaait M'Ler.n, on behalf of the Green, Island team, thanked the Highlanders and East Taieri Rifles for their presence, it being the first time the three teams h?d met on tiie gieen Island range. He hoped the match would be a.n annual one. Captain Dempster, on behalf of the Highland Rifles, thanked tho Green Island Rifles for the way they had been entertained, snying till at the Scotchman could always take a beating, ancli he thought that

companies, as it helped lo bring the nien more together. Linutenant Cameron, replying on behalf of the East Taieri Rifles, also thanked the Creen Island Rifles for the way his team had been trea-ted.
