_The handicaps- for the Taieri Amateur Turf Club's 'autumn meeting have made their appearance, and servers to wana the club's patrons of the proximity of the populai •" picnic" meeting, which, strange tosay, is patronised by many people who are rarely found on any jther course. The pleasant Irive is largely instrumental in „--drawing many people, amd since the club has increased the accommodation on the course by erecting a grand stand, there should be a further increase in the attendance. Jted Ronald has been allotted b's in the Trial Stakes, and should about wm. although he appears to have pkmty of weight. Sing of Trumps, if h& should be turned out in good order, many provide his imost dangerous opponent. In the President's Handicap, Ringman heads the list with 8.13, and does not, appear to be badly •created on weight, but may be dismissed' from calculations, as he is still in his paddeck at the- Hurt. He, however, will beshipped south this week. Flower o' Clutha Jias none the best of the weights with Ardnarff, who gave her 81b and a beating iho last time the pair met. The mare, howsvct, has been showing attractive form since, whilst Ardnarff has only rccantLv been taken

up after a spell. Flower o' Clutha sliould beat the ofhers, unless Sychem goes to the pest in a fighting mood, and in that ©vent ha would prove daaigerous. In the Flying Handicap St. Denis on his best form would possess a great chance, but Goldspur reads the most likely horco to provide the winner. Donna Rosa should race well in the Ea&t&r Handicap, and next to her Tugela would' have a chance in, the event of Flower o' Clutha earning a penalty -by winning the lirincipal race ; whilst Eawmore should have t a good ehanca in the Hack Handicap. Final selections W'U be made after the appearanoa of Ih-s acceptances.
