The secretary of the Rise and Shine Gold Dredging Company reports a return of 31oz Sdwt for 110 hours' work from the No. 1 dredge. Tho master stated! that the prospects were good. The No. 2 machine was opening out towards the west boundary of the claim. The bottom was soft pug, and the indications were encouraging. The secretary of the Happy Valley Company reports a return of 230z for last week. The dredgemaster states that everything is working well. The secretary of the Three-mile (Greenstone Creek) Company reports a return of 14oz lOdwt for 106 hours' work. The dredge was operating ia old workings for three days. The return from the Golden Gate dredge last week was 260z 13dwt. The dredgemaster reports that the river was steadiy. - The secretary of the Chicago Company reports a return of 13oz 13dwt 18gr for 98 hours' working. The dredgemaster states that the prospects are improving slightly. The master of the G-abriel dredge reports a return of 19oz 3dwfc for five days' work. Operations were suspended to replace the tumbler bushes. " Mr L. Ryan, Alexandra, reports the following returns : — 40oz lldwt 15gr for four days' -work from the Perseverance No. 1 dredge ; S7oz lOdwt 6gr from the Perseverance No. 2 dredge. Operations were suspended on th© former machine on "Wednesday and Thursday for the ■purpose of lengthening the elevator sft. This ■was rendered necessary on account of the river going down. Mr L. Ryan, Alexandra, reports a return of 12oz 4dwt for 90 hours' work from the Molyneux Hydraulic dredge. Silt was troublesome.
