Jpnuaiy s.— The Caledonian Society's annual concert was held in thj Town Hall, Naseby, oi> New Year's Night, when everything passed off successfully The attendance was good, and the programme, judging by the applause, evidently suited the audience. All the performers, without exception, had to submit to encores, this alone being evidence of the quality of the programme. The Naseby Band was in attendance, aad duung the evening contributed several enjoyable overtures Songs were contributed m excellent style by Mesdames Stewart, Shaw, Montgomery, Lewis, Misses Cooper (Dunedin). A. Guffie, Eva Hore, and Messrs Fahey and Montgomery. Mr Kirk gavp ?n excellent and much-appreciated reading, and Mr Shannan a smait step dance. Mesdames Cutten, Montgomery, and Brown acted as accompanists during the evening Mr Cutten. president of the society, was m the chair, and waa ably assisted in carrying out the concert by Mr Flower, vice-president.
