INVERCARGILL WOOL SALES.

J G. WARD AND CO

J. G. Ward and Co. report • — "We held our first wool sale of the season on the Sth inst., when we submitted a catalogue of 375 bales, and succeeded in disposing of nearly every bale. Ihe number of buyers was greatly in excess of former years, there being several fresh representatives of English and American houses pie?ent, and bidding was very spirited throughout. We think the sale must be regarded as a very satisfactory one m every way, as the market has advanced considerably as compared with the prices which have beer, ruling at the lecent sales in othar parts of the colony. Prices for average crcssbrads were flora Jd to Id per pound beyond what was scpec+ed. Average ciossbreds sold from 6d to 7d, while bngh' and clean cros&breds sold from Id to Bd, and special lots beyond even these figures. Detai.s of oili sales follow: —
