Messrs James Webster (Captain) and F. A Keblbell (Secretary), of the Wellington Golf Club were indefatiga)ble in organising the con>t,ost«, and were ably assisted by Mrs Burnes (Captain) and Miss Brandon (Secretary) of the Wellington Ladies' Golf Club. Of the thirty-two entrants for the championship only five scratched. viz , Mepdames Pharazyn and Donnelly, and Misses Brandon, Duncan, and Moore. Miss
M. Richmond (Auckland), wiho was drawn to play Mrs Ogston (Dunedin), won the toss, and drove the first ball of the tournament. The first pair started at 10.30 o'clock and the last pair exactly an hour later. The driving from the front of the clubhouse was good, there being only a few misses, for which nervousness was responsible. Experienced critics of the game declared that the play of bhe ladies had greatly improved upon that of previous tournaments
