A Eale of shares in the Standard Insurance Company was made on the Dunedin Stock Exchange on Tuesday r.t 18s 6ct. A sale of shares in Donaghy's Rope and T\=ine Company was made on the Dunedin Stock Exchange on Friday at £13. A sale of shares in the National Insurance Company was made on the Dunedin Stock Exchange on Saturday at £1 13 6d Competition for investment stocks was fsdrly brisk, buyers being in evidence throughout the call. A sale of shares in the National Insurance Company was made at £1 Is 6d, and thero were further buyers at the sanif price, with tollers ab £1 25."
The Dunediin Stock Exchange reports the following quotations on Monday : — National Bank— Buyers £i 99, sellers £i 10s. National Insurance— Bxiyers £1 Is 6i, sellers £1 2s. Standard Insurance— Buyers 19s l*d, sellers 19s 3d. New Zealand Shipping— Sellers £7. West port Coal— Buyers £6 16s, sellers £6 18s 6d. New "ieaiand end River Plate— Sellers £1 7s. Otago "Daily Tim?»— Buyers £15.
Tho-Timaru High School Board have decided to advance the salaries of the whole staff, the total addition amounting to £170. They also decided to reduce the pupils' fees as follows : — Seniors from £13 to £11 10s; juniors from £11 to £9 10s. The board's finances are in a very flourishing condition.
