August 7. The Bank of England returns show the stock of coin, etc., to be £32,937,000. The reserve amounts to £23,108,000, the percentage of reserve to liabilities being 49.89. The notes in circulation total £30,091,000; public deposits, £6,287,000; other deposits, £39,937,000; Government securities, £15,339,000; other securities, £?5,903,000. Consols are quoted at- £90 15?.
