NAVAL MANOEUVRES LONDON, August 3.

Extensive fleet manoeuvres begin today, in which 26 first-class battleships and 43 of the newest and most powerful cruisers are engaged. Admiral Sir C. H. Domville, commanding a powerful squadron stationed at Lagos, seeks to prevent a weaker British fleet, under Vice-admiral Sir A. K. Wilson, relieving the' second British Squadron, which is repairing at Madeira, the object, when a junction is effected, being to bring Admiral Domville to action.

Independent of these manoeuvres, torpedo craft operations will be carried out in St. George's Channel) 130 vessels being engaged.
