SOUTHLAND CHAMPION PLOUGHING MATCH.

The Southland championship ploughing meeting was hold in Mr Colin Gray's paddock, near Branxholme Station, to-day, and was in every respect a great success. Tho weather was magnificent, and the ground was in first-class order. All the cracks of Southland were present competing, and tho attendance was a record one. Mr W. T. Jamo, who swept the board pt Dmmmond, was again very isuccessful, taking the cliampionship event, tho double furrows, and the ve-ry substantial prize offered for tho best lot on tho field. The following is the pme-list : - Class A (Championship Doub'.e-fimow Class). — W. T. James, champion, Malcolm Gray, 2; William A. Gray, 3, Charles Clms-tie, 4; J. Horden, 5; Robert Smith, 6; J. R. Hamilton, 7, T. Docherty, 8. Class B (for p'oughmen who have never gained a. first prize in a sernoi class).— C. Haidie 1, George Smith 2. Class C, juaior double-furrow (youths und^r 18).— Alexander Gray, jun., 1; William Gray, jun , 2, John Scott, 3. Class- D (single furro-v}.— Robert Patterson 1, Duncan M'Callum 2, John M'lntosli 3. Championship lot on the field.— W. T. James.
