IDEALS OF THE DAWN.

Ideals of the dawn depart,

We wander forth to find The earth a, mighty, selfish mart

For selfish humankind.

Nobler ideals, brother, build,

As the swift seasons glide; Upon the sward thine hands have tilled

Build thee a temple wide.

Oh! wide to compass all thy kind,

And: high to touch God's heaven; Though Satan for a season blind,

A glorious light is given.

O more than that for which we yearn

Doth beckon from above; Ideals of the dawn return With innocence and love. — Chahles Oscar Palmee. Te Kahoutera Hills, June 26.
