MELBOURNE, July 1.
The revenue for the year is £6,936,000, a decrease of £70,000 on the preceding year. £2,105,000 was received from the Commonwealth.
SYDNEY, July 1.
The revenue for the year is £11,532,000, an increase of £353,000 over last year. The deficit at the opening of the year was £236,000; it is now a little over £300,000. The censure debate is listle c s, and will probably finish to-morrow.
ADELAIDE, July 1.
The revenue for the year is £2,472,000, including £556,000 from the Commonwealth. The railway revenue is £1,074,000, exceeding the estimate by £10,000.
John Hay, blacksmith, took his life at an hotel in Ararat, Victoria, recently. Hay had been drinking, and was found lying on the bed covered with blood. He had a terrible gash in the throat, and on the floor was a blood-stained razor.
