General Manning does not believe that the Mullah has any white prisoners.

A despatch received from Colonel Rochfort, the chief British officer accompanying the Abyssinian column against the Mullah, dated the Oth June, shows that the Abj>siuians, before the Mullah's flight northward, surprised his Bagp;ana horse and spearmen, and on the 31st at Jeyd, near Bur, after a slight resistance, the enemy's mounteds lied. The Mullah's uncle and 1000 .spearmen are reported to have been killed. One thousand camels were captured. The Abyssinia 11s' presence pi evented the Mullah obtaining water .south of Gerlcgubi, on the Galadi line.
I Colonel Roclifort, writing on the 14th, states that the Aby.-sinians, owing to insufficiency of water, were unable to reach Gerlogubi. Their grain requirements necessitate their comma, into the Shebele distiict. The Muliah sent to General Manning offering to exchange the captured Maxim-, for ammunition, and insolently a>-ked what we wanted in his country. General Manning replied advising him to come 111 aud submit. July 2 The Daily Telc^raph'.i Bubrra correspondent states that Stewart was the last of Captain Pluukctt's officers alive. He was wounded 111 --even places. He •-hot four of the enemy with his revolver, and then a Somali killed him. The Mullah fiay(d the Somali alive, beintr disappointed at not capturing a living officer. July 5. The Abyssinian General Abambro had a severe engagement with the Ogaden Somalis. who suflered heavily. A Mehasa tribesman who tried to shoot Mully ('-■) Mohammed was captured, covered with petroleum, and burnt.
