NEW SOUTH WALES CHAMPIONSHIP TOUENEY. The New South. Wades Championship Tourney, which has just been concluded, resulted in a victory for Mr J. Drury, Mr J. Lee being the runner-up. It was conducted for the first time in New South WaJes on the single-knock-out system, six games being played in each round, and winners meeting winners, which gave general satisfaction. Mr Drury's win. was very popular, for he has been closely connected with tho game for a number of years, and has done much to enhance its popularity m New South Wales. From tho visit of the laU "Herd Laddie" to the present day Mr Drury has worthily maintained his reputation as one in tho foremost rank of Australian, draughts '< ph/yeTs. Tho following interesting game, from the Melbourne Leader, was contested during the tourney: — [ Game 6443.— "Maid of the Mill." Black— J. Drury. White— S.
