THE NEW ZEALAND KENNEL CLUB
Dear Terror, — I read with great interest the letter of "Probatum JEst" in last week's issue re the doings of that mysterious bedy, <the New Zealand Kennel Club, and while agreeing with him that it would be unfair to treat one club any different to another A3 regards donating trophies or prize moneys, I think it should at least give certificates of merit to the winners of challenge classes at shows to -which championships are granted, and when a dog has won three cf those he- could then be given hi 3 champion certificate, entitling him to use the term in addition to nis name for all time. I am sure any fancier would be delighted to own such a certificate, coming from the New Zealand Kennel Club, and it would be a guarantee of excellence, against ■which there could be no possible doubt. I would suggest two styles — one for challenge classes, and the other (and of course a little more elaborate) for championship honours. The cost would be very trifling, I am sure : perhaps not more than 6d or Is each. What does "Probatum Est" think of this idea? — I am, etc., Fancier.
