p-yehology. who has years ago abandoned! briefs, and who is wont to descond on occasions from his high intellectual plane. He tells of how, yeir3 ago, a crowd of merry-makers, bent on mischief, ctuoountered Lord Halsbury in the corridor of an hotel one night, and, running him into a neighbouring bath room, refused to let him outi until he had made \ good pun. Scarcely, stopping for breath, the future Lord Chancellor shouted from the other side m a tone of command: "0 puai the door!" and need"( less -to say he was promptly released.
