Bishop's Gambit.
A brilliant game played recently in the Oxford University between H. Taylor (White; and T. H. Bumpus (Black).—
(a) Preferable would be 7 B-K3, tho Queen's Pawn being •waalc.
(b) He has nothing better now than to retire B-K3, aa P-Q5 would be followod by Kt-K.4, threatening, amongst other things, B x P eh and X Xt-Xt 5 eh. etc. (c) A pretty sacrifice. (D) The capture of the queen is immediately fatal. He has nothing left but 10 Px B ; 11 Q x B, P x Xt; only pro'onging the game. White would win, of course, after 12 Q x Q P. <E) Forced. If 13 K-Qi, then 14 E-84.
