MILTON BOWLING CLUB
The annual meeting of the Milton Bowling Club was held in the Coronation Hall, Milton, on Friday evening, when 20 members were present.
The report referred to the decline in membership, and urged members to do their utmost ti bring it up to previous standards. During the season the olub 'ost two old and valued members — viz., Messrs D. M'Phersou and W. H. Woods, — and the heartfelt sympathy of members went out to the relatives of the deceased gont'emen. It was decided to record in the minutes the departure from the district of theix esteemed fellow bowler, Mr James Gibb. The condition of the green was altogether unsatisfactory, due to the late top-dressing and the unseasonable weather. Eight interclub matches were played — four wins, four losses. An interesting feature of the season was a, ladies' match, which proved very enjoyable, and was much appreciated by the ladies, and the event is to ba made an annual one. Mr Moore was thanked for his gift to the c'.ub of one debenture. The balance sheet showed a cred imbalance of £1 odd. OflMe-baarers were elected as fol'ows- — President, Mr M. "W. Fleming; vice-presidents, Messrs M. Henderson and G. Fisher; committee—Messrs W. Moore, W. Taylor, J. W. Petrie, and Ned Condon ; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Grey; hand-c appers — Mr J. Kelson and Mar R. Robsrtson ; delegates to the association—Mr W. Moore and Mr J. Hislop (Duneclin).
The prizes won in the various matches during the season were presented to the winners at a smoke concert held after the meeting.
