WHEREAS by "The Sea-fisheries Act. 1894" (hereinafter termed "the <=aid Act"), it is amongst other things enacted that the Governor m Council may from time to time make- regulations, which shall have general force and effect throughout tho colony, or particular force and effect only in any waters or places specified therein, amongst I other things, for generally regulating the sr-'a-fishing of the colony: And whereas it is desirable to make the regulations hereinafter «et forth with re.*pi?ct to the size and usa of sot nets for t ! ie taking of indigenous fish inhabiting the wnteis of the rokmv herein mentioned : Now, therefore. His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance amd exercist of the power con- ' ferred upon him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of tho Executive Council of the aaid colony, doth hereby make the following regulation- — . REGULATIONS. 1 The length of any het-net for the taking of indigenous fiah chall meaeute not more than 70 fathoms, add a clear space of not Ip=s than 20 fathoms shall be left between any two nets. 2. No net shall be set or placed in front of or behind such clear space for ft distance of at least 20 fathoms from a line drawu from the end of each net. 3.
