After three ringing cheeTS 'had been given for the young ladies, tho performers, and the chairman, all joined in singing "Au'.d lang syne." The hall was than cleared for the inevitable dance, which was kept up most spiritedly until about 3 o'clock in the morning, Mr R. Gibb acting as M.C. Mr. and Mrs Ferguson kindly lent the piano for the occasion. Harvest. — Threshing operations in this district ore now brought to a close, being much later than usual owing to the wet season wh. -h we experienced. Roads.— The Henley roael has been closed for some time, owing to it having become necessary to erect a. new bridge at Lakeside, which is a gTeat inconvenience to the residents of Berwick, w'-o have to tiavel to Otokia Station nndo-r the present circumstances instead of to Henley as formeily.
