THE NEW GENERAL MANAGER. WELLINGTON, June 19. It is officially announced that Mr Alexander Michie, who has been temporarily discharging the dut'es of general manager of the Bank of New Zealand for some months, has decided to return to Dunedin and resume there, his position of branch manager. The d-rertors had hoped he would have seen his wav *o have remained permanently in Wellington at the head of affair 0 but. for family reasons, he was unabU- to do so The directors therefore, offered the general managership to Mr Alexander Matk.nto-iii. who haa for over C\e year, f!i,cliarg< f! tho duties of chief ni'ditor. and has ronsoouently an litimato knowledge of tho businp'-s of tho bank. Ho has arce-pU-d the position. Mr Mackintosh v.-as trained in a Scotch bank. He was for many years 111 the ?r-rvice of the Commercul Bulking Company, of Sydney, and wasgeneril manager of the Royal Bank of Queensland wht-n he accepted, at the hands of tl'e Government of Ni-w Zealand,- the office of chief auditor of the Bank of New Zealand.
The Auckland city coroner, in asking a jury if they had all nn.-weml to their proper name.-, stated that it had been found that jurore sometimes sent substitute* who answered in the names of the perjona summoned*
