MOKOIA GOLD DREDGING COMPANY.

The chairman and another of the directors tof the Mokoia Gold Dredging Company have just Teturned from a visit to the company's property, which is situated on the Buller River. Mr Crookston, the dredgemaster, anticipating a visit, arranged matters so that he could devote sufficient time to show hia directors everything in detail, both as regards the dredge and also the claim. The former was found to be in very fair condition, all the main parts being well maintained. The buckets, screen, and elevator have been subjected to the most wear, but as duplicates will reach the claim shortly a good run may be expected. Th visitors saw sufficient to convince them that the dredge •was being well looked after, and they consider that the company is fortunate in having a good manager and also a handy crew, as not only ■sue the directors assisted materially in consequence, but the shareholders are also satisfied. The high reef on which the dredge has bceu working during the past week or so may dip ehortiy and better returns follow. Special attention was paid to tho claim, and there was ample evidence to show that the Mokoia Company has one of the best properties on the ißuller Elver. .The dredge ha-s bsen systemati«ally working on the south side of the river, and in a safe position from floods, etc. Judging by the amount of work done so far there should iba a good many years' dredging in the claim yet on payable wash. The residents of the district havo every faith in the property, and appear coirfident as io the future prosperity of the company. When floods occur in the river they are soon over, and but little inconvenience is occasioned in consequence. Of the many clpims being worked on the West Coast the Mokoia is considered as being one of the best.
